Armed with a masters degree in advertising and journalism from the University of Missouri - Columbia, Ben Turec came to St. Louis in 1970. Due to recessionary times, he worked at a small retail agency and waited to move on to the big time shops in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.

Several years passed and Ben discovered he loved the challenge and excitement of working with local and regional companies he could help grow from the ground up. His business and retail reputation grew as well, and in 1976, Turec Advertising was founded with a gala Christmas party for St. Louis media and Ben's handful of clients. (Today the party is known as the "must-go-to" holiday party and Turec Advertising as the "must-go-to" retail agency.)

Ben Turec believes that creating an "attitude" for your company is what consumers remember. As creators of many award-winning commercials and jingles, Turec Advertising has turned many clients into household names - Autotire, Carrier, Famous Brand Shoes, Jim Trenary Chevrolet, FM 101.1 The River, Sunset Ford and Taylor Morley Homes, to name a few. Even the media have come to Turec Advertising for promotions and name awareness, like Fox Network, Emmis Broadcasting and Bonneville International.
